The oldest undertakings which do not comply with the project specifications provided on Secovi's resolution present many difficulties in facilitating the implementation of individualized remote measurement of water, because many buildings have different bob water distributed by the housing unit .  

The need for cable launching inside the housing unit for sending consumption information disables the conventional remote measurement systems installation. In addition, so that home management philosophy is actually viable, the technology employed should facilitate the installation of devices for the equipments control inside the housing unit, without the need to change the buildings' electrical installations.

This approach had only one solution with the appearance of communication networks by radio frequency with a view to being applied on home automation. The ZigBee technology was especially designed for being applied to sheltered environments (in door) focused on static equipments management.

Nowadays, more than 70 Companies take part in the “ZigBee Aliance” as the solutions' sponsors or developers. The wireless solutions put available by the Measurement Gateway make use of the ZigBee network as the basis for their products for home application.

By means of this communication network, water and gas meters, control modules for equipment control and, in short future, centrals of alarm, can exchange information among themselves through a structured wireless network. The ZigBee network has 3 entities. The Network Coordinator, which informs and updates the topology of the network, the Network Router, which sends and receives the packets of information and the End Devices, from which the information to be transmitted are originated.

In the specific event of home application, the illustration below exemplifies each one of the components of this wireless network to be the ideal solution for deployment of automated systems for measuring enterprise built, with no need to assemble an infrastructure for cabling for the transmission of information collected.
