The AS-0001 signal amplifier has an optical input and an electrical input, it cannot be used at the same time, converting one type of signal into another.

In the optical/electrical conversion, the signal is transformed in TTL level, with maximum current of 100 mA. In the electrical/optical conversion, the signal is conditioned to be used in optical fiber, multimode, of 820 nm.

The Signals Amplifier can be used to extend the distance of connection between two electronic devices with electrical interfaces, by optical fiber cable, in a transparent way, without degradation of performance. As an example of application, we can mention the conversion of an optical IRIG-B signal originated by a Time Server –GPS to TTL electrical standard, synchronizing a protection relay.
